I am not one to post and update many Blogs but I have to let the community know about how bad this contractor really is.
They took a contract from me to paint the exterior of my house. I even went for the most expensive of special coatings (texcote coolwall) as they are a recommended contractor and all investigations point to their great abilities and service.
Well, it's all a lie. They are a state licensed contractor but they use unlicensed contractors to do their work.
Texcote is a specialized product only to be applied by trained professionals. Hah!. None of those applying the product knew anything about it. Needless to say it was not done right. In fact it was an extremely poor representation of a standard paint job using very expensive paint. If I had paid a standard $5K to paint my house with standard exterior paint this would still have been a bodge job.
Anyway, very long and arduous story cut short, I made them leave my property and put it in the hands of my lawyer. They actually agreed that the job was so poor they gave me my money back. But that cost me money.

This company took advantage of neighbors from another country. They sold my neighbors a fence in white vinyl when the convenant calls for wood slats. It sold them a 7 foot privacy fence in their back yard when the convenant calls for a 4 foot fence and it sold them a fence that extended to the front yard (no fences are supposed to be put up in front of out homes). The company then sent out a crew to install the fences that did not speak English. They saw the markings from MsUtility and plopped a fence post on top of it. Needless to say they took out the phone lines and cable lines for the whole neighborhood. They also took out my sump pump line and I am now fighting with them to pay for the repairs. Buyer beware when dealing with this company!

My boyfriend and I moved in together, we are 25 and 27 so obviously living with someone is a first for both of us and we are beginning to face the inevitable clash in ideal home decor.

That said, we are putting together our living room (mind you we have a one-bedroom apartment in downtown Chicago so this is also our living room, media center and entertaining room). We have a 47'' flat screen on top of our TV stand. We have surround sound speakers and have already mounted the rear speakers in corners on the opposite wall from the TV. He would like to hang the center speakers above and beside the TV and stand. Yes, visible wires. It was fine when we were living seperately but this just looks bachelor pad/tacky.

Does anyone have some suggestions?

I need a little help with my livingroom walls. My walls are white(boring). I would like to put color on my wall but not sure what color. My couch is a maroon color and I also have a gray recliner. My carpet is a light gray with red through it. There is also light color wood though out in picture frames, floor boards and entertainment center.
