Rocky Mountain Hinges

I have hung a respectable number of doors over the years, but this is my first outing using Rocky Mountain hinges. They are 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and quite handsome. I am hoping some of you guys might have some pointers in dealing with the inconsistencies of these cast hinges. The first hinge mortised into some scrap showing that the leafs are not parallel. The second hinge is a second test in which I have the desired 3/32” reveal on one side, but it is closing in on the other. I guess it was wrong of me to assume that hinges that cost $150 each would have better tolerances. I am hoping there are some Rocky Mountain Guru’s here that may have a tip or two that might save me some trouble. Thanks in advance

Thanks alot. I'll give that

Thanks alot. I'll give that a try.

i use a piece of

i use a piece of paper[thick] in various thicknesses but only in 1/8 to 1/4 wide .it goes in either the outer edge or inner edge to tweak the hinge and change the door to jamb reveal .it is best on the jamb side because it is hidden from eyesight. i like to use a little glue so they stay in place.i do not swet the in consistances of handmade hardware to much .though i like the rounded edges to be above surface . yeah it can be frustrating when you have to go back and adjust stuff because hardware varies . have fun.
