my livingroom
Submitted by karen on Sun, 05/11/2008 - 17:30
I need a little help with my livingroom walls. My walls are white(boring). I would like to put color on my wall but not sure what color. My couch is a maroon color and I also have a gray recliner. My carpet is a light gray with red through it. There is also light color wood though out in picture frames, floor boards and entertainment center. If someone could please help decide what color would be best I would truely appreciate it.
Thank you

Slate Wall Fountain
Karen,
A lot of our customers have the same problem, and one solution is a slate wall fountain. You can get them in a multicolor stones that go with almost any color scheme. There are some great examples on www.ethanpaulfountains.com. Good luck.
Fun with Colors
Hi Karen,
You can do wonders with colors as long as you are not afraid to experiment. If you have not taken the color plunge feel free send me a picture of your furniture colors and I will be glad to assist you with color options.
Depending on the shades of gray in your recliner and carpet and the amount of light that you have in the room, I would recommend going with a darker shade of gray. Porter Paint has several to choose from. Before purchasing the required amount of paint, Purchase several sample sizes of your desired colors. Paint a section on atleast 1 wall near the window and one opposing wall. This wil give you an idea of how the paint will look in the different light. Plus after a day or two you may decide you absolutely LOVE or Dislike a certain color.
GOOD LUCK!!! and HAVE FUN!!!

Painting Living Room
Hi Karen,
Sorry for the delayed response. With the light cored wood you have a grayish blue would go great and it depends how light or dark you want to go. Two colors of Sherwin-Williams paints (I don't know if it's available where you live it's very popular around here in CT) I'd like to suggest 1. 6250 Granite Peak and 2. 7666 Fleur De Sel. It could go good with the maroon couch too but light wood with maroon don't go very well together. I hope it works.
Regards,
Ermand
